Connecting Farmers with Farmland

January 11 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

$20

“Connecting Farmers with Farmland: Continuing the Conversation about Partnerships with Conservation Organizations” is a joint presentation between the NJ Land Trust Network and the Foodshed Alliance. This convening will focus on:

  • Developing a Team: As we learned in the first session of this series “Towards Food System Resiliency,” the American Farmland Trust (AFT) partners with land conservation organizations to connect farmers seeking land to cultivate. We will continue to explore how to adapt this program for New Jersey. We will discuss training needs and other approaches to create a team of knowledgeable farmland “advisers.” David Haight from the American Farmland Trust will facilitate this discussion.
  • Applying Technology: The State Agriculture and Development Committee will facilitate a discussion about their NJ LandLink program and obtain feedback from the audience about the program and how to inform people about the resource.

Who should attend: Those who attended the two prior workshops on June 7 and August 15 are invited to this program. However, anyone with interest in the topic is welcome to attend. Please share with others! All participants must register by contacting Laura@njconservation.org or Kendrya@foodshedalliance.org.

Cost: $20 for lunch.
