Building Stronger NJ Farms with Rutgers Cooperative Extension

On Novmebr 1, 2025, we joined Rutgers Cooperative Extension’s Annie’s Project field trip, part of their Networks to Reduce Risk: Building Viable NJ Farms series. The visit to Urban Agriculture Cooperative (UAC) in Newark offered an inspiring look at how their Food Hub supports urban growers and connects with rural farms to strengthen New Jersey’s local food system.

UAC’s food hub focus’ on feeding their community by supporting urban growers in the immediate region. Their model empowers small and mid-sized farmers to set their own prices while providing transportation and logistics support, a great example of collaboration driving farm and community resilience!
