In honor of their 120th anniversary, Donaldson Farms has chosen Foodshed Alliance’s LocalShare program as their ‘Season in the Spotlight’ organization. Celebrating not just where they’ve been, but the kind of food system they want to help build for the future.
Since 1906, Donaldson Farms has grown from a small dairy operation into a thriving, family-run farm now spanning six generations. Today, the farm produces a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables while also serving as a gathering place for the community through its farm market, greenhouse, and seasonal experiences.
Foodshed Alliance is a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening sustainable agriculture, expanding access to healthy, locally grown food, and protecting the environment. Through its community-driven LocalShare program, the organization partners with farmers, volunteers, and community groups to rescue surplus produce and distribute it to families with limited access across the region. By connecting what’s grown in our fields to the people who need it most, LocalShare reduces food waste, supports regional farmers, and helps build a more resilient and equitable local food system.
