Become a community scientist and help us track road salt pollution in our local waterways!

Join the Foodshed Alliance’s Paulins Kill Watershed Initiative—in partnership with the Stroud Water Research Center and a network of regional collaborators—for a hands-on community science event to monitor road salt pollution in our local streams and rivers.

When: October 11 (Rain date: October 15) | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Where: Memory Park, Newton, NJ 07860

Bring your family, friends, and neighbors to help us collect water samples and learn firsthand how road salt impacts our environment. Volunteers of all ages are welcome! Together, we’ll test for salt levels in surface and groundwater and you’ll receive a summary of the findings.

The Paulins Kill Watershed Initiative has been monitoring water quality year-round for three years. This special one-day snapshot will add valuable insight into the extent of salt pollution in our waters.
