Everyone can grow organic garlic! Learn different methods for this highly medicinal, versatile, and DEER RESISTANT crop! Come out to the SAgE Sergeantsville Organic Demo Plot to learn different organic methods for planting garlic and get your hands in the soil planting some cloves! We have 3 different varieties, locally sourced from Experimental Farm Network’s Seeds. Participants will learn about different pest mitigation methods, planting techniques, seed spacing, and more!
The Legendary Tomia MacQueen from Wildflower Farm and NOFA-NJ Board (among many other amazing accolades) will be joining us to share her expertise on Garlic Planting! Tomia has been growing garlic and teaching others about this amazing crop for many years. We are so grateful to have her share her knowledge and join us in our community planting of the first official crop in our Organic Demonstration Plot in Sergeantsville!
This event is grant funded from TOPP: The Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP) is a new USDA initiative that will invest up to $100 million over five years to provide education, technical assistance, and support to help producers transition to organic. The goal of this initiative is to help grow the organic sector.
