LocalShare, a program of the Foodshed Alliance, aims to reduce food waste on farms, increase food security for vulnerable residents, and engage the community in strengthening the local food system. We connect people facing food insecurity with locally grown, natural foods by leveraging the volunteer efforts of our community.

Whether it’s a few extra crates of veggies or a row planted with purpose, we make it easy to give back! If you’re a farmer interested, we’re here to work with you, whether it’s a one-time contribution or a regular partnership. Submit the interest form below to get in touch with us.
Volunteer

Since 1906, Donaldson Farms has been a cornerstone of New Jersey agriculture, growing from a small dairy operation into a vibrant, multi-generational farm rooted in community. Six generations later, they continue to grow fresh fruits and vegetables, welcome families to their farm, and create meaningful connections around local food.

The Gleaning Program
Gleaning is the practice of collecting unharvested crops and produce from farms that might otherwise go to waste. Through our Gleaning Program, LocalShare partners with local farmers and dedicated volunteers to rescue this fresh, nutritious food and deliver it to food pantries, meal programs, and community groups.
By reducing food waste and increasing access to healthy food, gleaning helps feed our neighbors while supporting local farms.
Free Produce Pop-up Market
LocalShare’s free produce pop-up markets are vibrant community events designed to bring fresh, locally sourced fruits and vegetables directly to neighbors in need. Held regularly in various accessible locations across New Jersey, these markets serve as a cornerstone of our mission to promote food security and community wellness.
